FAQ for Therapies

As a travel therapist, you may be there to provide support during times of high census or take over for someone on leave. Some facilities hire travelers on a regular, planned basis to cover their busy seasons.

We staff in all 50 states and in all settings ranging from Hospital, IP Rehab/Acute, Home Health, Outpatient, Skilled Nursing, Pediatric and Schools.

You can expect a recruiter to call within 24-48 hours after your online application.  A recruiter will talk with you about your work experience, skill set, career goals, and available opportunities.

A license to practice as a therapist or assistant is required but there are a number of facilities that will speak with you about the position and wait for you to get the license.

You can start traveling immediately out of school.

The first step to becoming a travel therapist is setting up your LEAP account through our Converdia Health Website. Once your profile is complete, a recruiter will reach out to help find the right job for you!

You can apply to a travel assignment as soon as 8 weeks out.

Assignment/contract lengths vary, but they’re typically around 13 weeks in duration, they can be 8 weeks or 26 weeks as well.

We suggest 30 days from when you would like to start a travel assignment.

We get this question a lot.  It’s definitely possible! It is important to communicate your wants and needs with your recruiter so we can aid you in your preparations.

Yes, you can!  The main challenge when traveling with a pet is finding a place that accepts pets and paying the additional deposit.

Pay varies for many reasons. These reasons include setting, location, and benefits. There’s no “set pay” but Converdia does have very competitive pay packages.

Converdia Health Staffing offers many benefits to travelers. A full benefits package, medical, dental, and vision insurance plans, and 401K plans are available to travelers. Travelers are eligible for benefits on the 1st of the month after a contract has started.

At Converdia Health Staffing, you have a team to help you throughout your travel therapy career. In addition to your recruiter, you’ll have a human resource specialist and a payroll representative to provide their expertise.

Orientation with your healthcare facility will be conducted by a representative at the facility.  The length will vary from one facility to another. The expectation with the orientation is that it will enable you to understand procedures and policies in order to provide the best care possible for the patients/residents.  Your team at Converdia will find the best match for your interests and skill set.

You’ll be paid weekly via direct deposit. Every Friday is payday! Using the Paycom app, you will clock in and out on your mobile device. Our Payroll Specialist is here to help navigate Paycom and troubleshoot if needed.  Your recruiter can provide more information.
